At KGMS, we believe there are multiple pathways to success.
Guided by the principles of Universal Design for Learning, from Kindergarten to graduation, our educators excel at adapting B.C. curriculum, instruction and assessment, to a student’s strengths and learning needs. All educators utilize Orton-Gillingham methodologies to develop individual educational experiences for every student.
Through our integrated student services approach, students develop the tools and strategies needed to achieve and build confidence in their learning.
For many this is a life-changing experience.
What is Universal Design for Learning (UDL)?
UDL is a teaching approach that works to ensure education is accessible and inclusive to all learners. By accommodating the needs and abilities of every learner, students are engaged in a variety of ways and presented with multiple pathways to success.

Breaking Barriers Through the Power of Music
Our music program is a highlight for students and faculty. Learn how Rose used the program to find her voice, and the lasting impact it’s had on her education.
Social-Emotional Learning
We place a major emphasis on Social-Emotional Learning to help students with social interactions and understanding the social world.
Through explicit modelling, prompting and one-on-one guidance, students are given an opportunity to explore relationships with their peers, raise their self-confidence and improve interpersonal skills. Our professional counsellors also help students reflect on issues like bullying, body image, and healthy living.
We are grateful to be living, working and learning on the unceded traditional and ancestral lands of the Coast Salish territory of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.
